Our CEO Heather Brunner appeared on Bloomberg’s “In the Loop” program this morning. For those of you who missed it, we thought we’d share a couple of snippets from her appearance.

Women Should Consider Tech to Build a Career

During this first video, Heather says she finds it fantastic to be a woman in tech, and that you don’t need to be a computer scientist to be in a tech company.

I think there’s never been a better time for women to be in technology than right now.

She also discussed how in the near-term, we at WP Engine are doubling down on building out our platform—our “secret sauce.”

It’s Not Just a Blog It’s Business

This second clip focused on blogs, with Heather arguing that blogs are an essential part of business and communications with all of your audiences. She said:

Blogs are key for bringing out the humanity of your brand.

Heather explained that blogs allow for long-form content, where you can talk about a product launch or an event you have coming up. She also talked about how WordPress is enabling any type of web content imaginable:

WordPress is like a box of legos, you can do anything with it.
