Meet the Experts: Kasie Kremenak
In our Meet the Experts series, we talk with the people working behind the scenes every day to power confidence online
Every day, WP Engine’s diverse team of experts brings their unique perspectives and deep expertise to the table. Whether they are refining our tools and platform, organizing our internal teams, or supporting our global customers, every employee has skills that contribute to a culture that’s built on trust and driving innovation together.
In this edition of our Meet the Experts series, we sit down with Kasie Kremenak, a Principal Agile Coach based in Iowa who helps our product teams improve their speed and efficiency.

Say hello to Kasie!
Kasie is a Principal Agile Coach in our Product and Engineering department who helps teams work smarter, not harder. While her day job involves streamlining complex workflows, her personal life is all about creative expression.
“I work in technology, but I’m an artist at heart,” Kasie says. “I paint, do chalk art, and play the violin.”
When she is not creating art or coaching teams, Kasie recharges by spending quality time with her son and her dog outside, usually through hiking or camping. She first came to WP Engine looking for a positive, supportive environment, and according to her, that’s exactly what she found.
“My favorite thing about working for WP Engine is the culture, for sure. When I applied, it was for a lower-level role, but the company recognized my extensive experience and actually upgraded the open position to bring me on board,” she recalls. “It just shows how much they value their people here.”
Kasie’s career journey
Before joining WP Engine, Kasie spent 12 years as an Agile Coach in the financial services industry. This background in a highly regulated space gave her a disciplined approach to improving processes. Now, she uses that experience to help WP Engine’s product and engineering teams deliver value to customers faster.
“My primary focus is optimizing the flow and speed of value delivery across the entire company,” Kasie explains. “I do this by coaching teams, individuals, and leaders in agile practices.”
For Kasie, the technical side is only half of the job. The real challenge comes from the human element of managing organizational change. Change is tough, but she believes it’s easier when you can tell a persuasive story.
“To successfully influence a change, I have to clearly communicate the value and positive impact of that change to get everyone on board,” she says. “It’s about finding real solutions and making sure everyone understands the why behind a decision.”
Kasie loves to learn and loves to read, alternating between fiction and professional development books that help her grow as a coach. She considers Lyssa Adkins’s Coaching Agile Teams a foundational resource for anyone in her field. You can learn more about her professional philosophy on her personal website or on LinkedIn.
Words of wisdom: The power of intentional listening
The throughline of Kasie’s approach to leadership is the importance of truly listening. Kasie believes being present and hearing people out builds the foundation for every professional relationship.
“Listening is the most important aspect of any successful career, but especially in my role,” Kasie shares. “It’s not just about hearing what people are saying, but understanding what they’re not saying, too.”
She emphasizes the need for “pure” listening, where the goal is understanding, not preparing a reply.
“Just taking in information and not thinking about my response is really important,” she says. “When someone listens well, they learn more, and people tend to trust you more when you really hear them out.”
Beyond communication, Kasie advises leaders to protect their own energy to avoid burnout.
“Prioritize yourself and mental wellness,” she suggests. “Don’t schedule meetings back-to-back if you can avoid it. Give yourself time to recharge, so you can show up as the best version of yourself.”

Kasie’s empathetic leadership is a perfect example of WP Engine’s people-first culture. By improving processes for our technical teams, she helps ensure we continue to provide the best possible products, tools, and features for our customers.
