AUSTIN, Texas — Feb 15, 2021 — WP Engine, the world’s most trusted WordPress technology company, today announced nominations are now open for Torque’s Plugin Madness 2021. The contest, entering its sixth year, is a bracket-style competition that begins with 64 WordPress plugins nominated by Torque readers which are split into four groups: eCommerce, Maintenance, Marketing and Optimization. Those plugins are then pitted against one another in a grueling set of matchups that culminate in a finals round, and ultimately, the thrill of victory for one remaining WordPress plugin champion.

The voting schedule, open to the entire WordPress community and beyond, lasts one week for each round, beginning at midnight: 

  • March 15—Round 1 (64 entrants)
  • March 22—Round 2 (32 entrants)
  • March 29—Round 3 (16 entrants)
  • April 5—Round 4 (8 entrants)
  • April 12— Round 5 (4 entrants)
  • April 19— Round 6 (2 entrants)
  • April 26— Winner Announced
