WP Engine Is Heading To Dublin For Web Summit 2015
In 2010, roughly 500 members of the local tech community gathered at the Chartered Accountants House in Dublin for an intimate meeting of entrepreneurs, local business people, and investors. It was a modest start, but from there Web Summit was born. Five years later, Dublin is bracing for Web Summit 2015, which will bring more than 30,000 delegates from across the globe to the Ireland capital.
The event takes place from 2nd November to 5th November, and will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the 2015 tech calendar –it’s already being billed as “the best technology conference on the planet!”
And WP Engine will be at Web Summit in full force. We have a nine-strong team heading to Dublin, including our CEO Heather Brunner and myself (EMEA Managing Director Fabio Torlini). This is our second year taking part in Web Summit and we’ll be exhibiting for all three days of the event.
We have a packed schedule of meetings and activities – here’s a snapshot of what we’ll be up to and how you can get involved:
Panel Discussions
Heather is participating in two panel sessions on Wednesday, 4th November. They’re on really interesting subjects and cover issues close to Heather’s heart. We’re sure the theatre will be packed, so get there early for a seat. Here are the details:
Building a diverse company? Start from the beginning
11:05 a.m., Start-up University
The discussion will look at ways in which entrepreneurs can include diversity when building their company and their staff, with reflection on the fast-moving tech world in general and where it needs to “grow up.”
The Guardian Presents: Monopolies and Unicorns: European Tech and Democracy
2:25 p.m., The Society Stage
As the European Commission takes aim at some of the world’s largest tech platforms, what more can be done to support the emergence of European tech giants to rival those of Silicon Valley?
