Adding Personalization to a Non-Profit Website

World Bicycle Relief mobilizes people through the power of bicycles. To date, the non-profit has designed and distributed almost 500,000 life-changing bicycles to students, health workers, and entrepreneurs in 20 countries around the world.

Like any non-profit, WBR is dependent on donations and engagement from the local communities where its various global offices are located. In order to enhance efforts across all of its locations, the WBR team decided to refresh their website and equip it with geolocation functionality so it would serve up localized content based on a user’s IP address.

For help with the creative aspect of the refresh, WBR worked with Blue State, a full-service digital agency that specializes in online fundraising, advocacy, social networking, and constituency development. For help implementing the technology, WBR engaged digital agency DxDy and WP Engine.
