With hundreds of submissions since nominations kicked off last month and the final slate of 64 plugins selected, voting has begun for Torque’s Plugin Madness 2021, kicking off seven weeks of elimination rounds that will ultimately determine this year’s winner!
Entering its sixth year, Plugin Madness is a bracket-style competition that celebrates the vast community of developers who work tirelessly to give WordPress the flexibility and extensibility so many users have come to rely on it for.
The annual spring tournament begins with 64 WordPress plugins nominated by Torque readers which are split into four categories: eCommerce, Maintenance, Marketing, and Optimization.
Those plugins are then pitted against one another throughout a rigorous set of weekly matchups that culminate in a finals round, and ultimately, victory, for one remaining plugin champ. Check out this video for more:
“The momentum around Plugin Madness seems to build every year, and this year is no exception, “ said Torque Magazine Editor Emily Schiola.
“Since nominations started in February, we’ve already seen more interest and activity than in years past, and because the voting phase is where the action really starts to heat up, we’re excited for what the coming weeks hold in store!”
All votes are cast on the official Plugin Madness site, which will be updated each week with new brackets.
This year’s voting schedule is as follows:
- March 15: Round 1
- March 22: Round 2
- March 29: Round 3
