WordCamp Austin in Photos
After a 3-year hiatus, WP Engine was ecstatic to sponsor and be involved in WordCamp ATX. This weekend, nearly 200 guests attended the event located at Fair Market, adjacent to downtown Austin. The schedule consisted of 33 different speeches characterized by 3 different categories: Building a WP Site, Making a Living, and WP As A Solution.
At WP Engine, we make it a priority to give back to the WordPress community so we were proud to have an integral role in the planning, organizing, and success of WCATX once again. In total, over the course of a year, WP Engine employees dedicated 628 hours of volunteering for the planning of this event. We were also proud to have 4 speakers: Jason Cohen (CTO and Founder), David Vogelpohl (VP, Web Strategy), Shayda Torabi (Market Intelligence Manager), and Ben Moore (BI Developer).
Ryan Hoover, a Software Developer at WP Engine was in charge WordCamp ATX this year, “I’ve helped out at WordCamps in Austin and San Antonio before, but this was my first time organizing one. It’s definitely been a labor of love. I was warned when I took on the role that it would be hundreds of hours of investment. That’s definitely true. But it’s so rewarding hearing from people who went to their first WordCamp and can’t wait to learn more about WordPress.”
Check out a few photos from the event:
The crowd was excited to hear WP Engine Founder, Jason Cohen, share his experiences in the startup world and how WordPress played a role.
